of birds and how that has now expanded and helped our understanding of the
lives of our birds.

will talk about 'William Pretty & Son - a Suffolk family and corset
manufacture’ which
tells the
story of this major Ipswich store. The associated corset factory was claimed to
be the first such factory in the country, using fabrics such as linen or cotton
containing strips of shaped whalebone, thus maintaining the desired “hourglass”
figure of the wearer.
