From the Editor

Once again I am taking part in the Pink Ladies’ Tractor Road Run and once again I’m making an appeal for sponsorship!  This will be my third run and the previous two runs have shown how generous people can be in making donations to Cancer Research UK.  I hope that you can be as generous this year and visit my JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/Helen-Major2/  As many of you know this is a terrific local event and is made very special by the crowds of people lining the route, even in the rain last year. I look forward to seeing lots of Needham folk on the way round! As Shotford Bridge is closed, there will be a different  route this year.

A date for your diary: the annual Village Barbecue will take place on Sunday 16 August starting at 1:00pm in the grounds of the Village Hall.  It’s a great opportunity to get together with other villagers and enjoy some tasty BBQ food.

The Village Hall is a well used amenity.  There is a timetable of events in this edition.  If you would like to book it for a private event please get in touch with the bookings coordinator, Jean Youell on 01379 854819.

We were concerned to learn that one of the Link’s regular contributors, Derek Buttle, was in hospital but pleased to report that he is now back home.  We hope you continue to gain in strength, Derek.

Congratulations to Keith & Ann Barry on their very significant wedding anniversary in August.

Your contributions to the Link are welcome. If you have any information about forthcoming events in Needham I should be pleased to include it. You can either email needhamlink@gmail.com or pop it through my letter box at Mill Farm Cottage.

Helen
