Birth

Joe and Helen Walker (nee Woodger) are delighted to announce the birth of their son Elliot James Irwin. Elliot was born on 17th February at the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital.

Death

Rev Cuthbert Mather, Vicar of Needham for 23 years from 1957 to 1980 died on 22 March 2012 at the age of 96 years at his home in Hunstanton.

Rev Mather’s funeral was held on 2 April at St Edmund’s Church in Hunstanton.

“Cuthbert was a very quiet and humble gentleman who served the two parishes of Needham & Rushall with love and dedication and was greatly missed when he retired.  To remember and honour him a road off Harman’s Lane was named after him.

May he rest in peace.”

Gillian Powell

On Sunday 13 May there will be an opportunity to share memories of Cuthbert at the ‘Service With a Difference’ starting at 5:30pm at St Peter’s.  Fran Pitt-Pladdy will be speaking and he will welcome any photographs to include in his presentation.

St Peter’s Church

On 19 February at the morning service a presentation of a garden voucher and wine was made to Charles Chenery who has been the organist at St Peter’s for 50 years and church warden for 30 years.  He was thanked for his hard work and dedication.
